More than 357,000 vaccinations given at GEMA/HS Mass Vaccination Sites

(ATLANTA) – The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency closed out operations at the eight mass vaccination sites across Georgia on May 21, after administering 357,668 total doses of Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Major Disaster Declared for Eight Counties, Public Assistance Available

(ATLANTA) – Governor Brian Kemp requested a Major Disaster Declaration for severe storms and tornadoes that occurred March 25-26, 2021, based on joint federal, state and local preliminary damage assessments totaling more than $28 million. The disaster declaration was approved by President Joe Biden, making public assistance available for eight counties in Georgia.

GEMA/HS Mass Vaccination Sites in Emerson and Hapeville Closed Due to Inclement Weather on May 3

(ATLANTA) – The Mass Vaccination Sites at the Delta Flight Museum in Hapeville, Ga., and the LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Ga. operated by the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) are closed for the rest of today, May 3, due to inclement weather.

GECA Offering Grant for Next Generation 911 Training

(ATLANTA) – The Georgia Emergency Communications Authority (GECA) has opened applications for a 911 Training Grant that fully reimburses primary 911 Centers for Next Generation 911 training.

All GEMA/HS Mass Vaccination Sites Allowing Drive-Ups for the Johnson and Johnson Vaccine Beginning Monday

(ATLANTA) – Beginning Monday, May 3, all eight Mass Vaccination Sites operated by the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) will allow drive-ups with no appointment necessary for the COVID-19 Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

State Mass Vaccination Sites Shift to Johnson and Johnson Vaccine, Pfizer 2nd Doses

(ATLANTA) – Today, the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS), the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH), and the Governor's Office announced that the eight state-operated mass vaccination sites will shift to providing single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine and Pfizer second doses through May 21. First doses of the Pfizer vaccine will not be administered at these sites after April 30.

(ATLANTA) – The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency reached the milestone of a quarter of a million Georgians vaccinated at the agency’s Mass Vaccination Sites across the state today.

Extended Hours Thursday and Saturday at the Columbus Civic Center COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Site

(COLUMBUS, Ga.) – The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security (GEMA/HS) Mass Vaccination Site at the Columbus Civic Center in Columbus, Ga. will have extended hours on Thursday, April 15 and will be open an additional day this week on Saturday, April 17.
