GEMA/HS Will Offer Critical Infrastructure Assessor Program
(ATLANTA) – The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) is pleased to announce the Critical Infrastructure Assessor Program (CIAP) certificate will be available through GEMA/HS’s Training Department starting January 2025.
Critical infrastructure encompasses a wide range of sectors including energy, transportation, water supply, and communication. The disruption to any of these sectors can have far-reaching and devastating consequences for public safety, the economy and society.
"In these last two months, we have seen the disastrous economic and health effects that can occur due to damaged critical infrastructure globally,” said GEMA/HS Director, Chris Stallings, “Therefore, ensuring Georgia’s crucial assets are protected is a priority and having well-trained individuals to do so is essential.”
The CIAP Certificate is aimed at enhancing the expertise of critical infrastructure specialists in Georgia. This comprehensive training program offers a wide-ranging curriculum designed to tackle different obstacles and emergencies, equipping State of Georgia Critical Infrastructure Assessors with the essential skills and knowledge to assess critical infrastructures effectively.
