(ALBANY) – The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) Mass Vaccination Site in Albany, Georgia is returning to appointment only operations effective today, Feb. 26.

“We suspended the requirement for appointments because we weren’t seeing registrations where they needed to be at this site,” said GEMA/HS Director Chris Stallings. “As word has spread about the site we’ve seen the number of people coming in increase dramatically, so we need to manage our supply of vaccine through the appointment process.”

Governor Brian P. Kemp announced the change to appointments only at the site during a press conference on Thursday, and encouraged eligible Georgians to register.

The Albany Georgia Forestry Commission Mass Vaccination Site is located at 1150 West Oakridge Drive, Albany, GA 31707. Eligibility is still limited to residents of the State of Georgia who are included in Phase 1A+. This includes healthcare workers, residents and staff of long-term care facilities, adults aged 65+ and their caregivers, and first responders (law enforcement, fire personnel including volunteer fire departments, dispatchers and 9-1-1 operators).

Those eligible for vaccination can still preregister for an appointment at any Site by visiting http://myvaccinegeorgia.com or by calling the Site-specific phone number listed below. Those who require special assistance can use the TTY number. Registrants who do not meet the eligibility criteria will not receive a vaccine. Only one appointment can be made per person.
