Severe Weather April 2020

Governor Brian Kemp declared a statewide State of Emergency  to deploy state assistance in the wake of severe thunderstorms, excessive precipitation, and tornadoes in those areas. The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency is actively monitoring the severe weather event and is coordinating with our state, local, federal, as well as public and private sector partners to position resources around the state.

SBA Offers Disaster Assistance to Business and Residents Affected by April Thunderstorms, Excessive Rainfall, and Tornadoes

The State of Georgia received a SBA Declaration for Murray County and six contiguous counties for the severe weather from April 12th to 13th. The declaration offers low-interest loans for those located in the declared disaster area. Assistance for all applicants will be served through the Virtual Disaster Loan Outreach Center (VDLOC) at https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/. Georgia REALTORS Partners with REALTORS® Relief Foundation To Offer Disaster Relief Assistance

The Georgia Association of REALTORS and the REALTORS® Relief Foundation are now offering housing assistance to Georgia residents who were impacted by the severe weather events in April. The REALTORS® Relief Foundation approved a grant to GAR in the amount of $150,000, and these funds will benefit Georgia residents whose primary residence has been damaged by the storms and tornadoes.
