(ATLANTA) – The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency launched a new website and revamped Ready Georgia mobile app to provide essential preparedness tips and quicker essential response and recovery information to the public.

“We wanted a site that was easily accessible and interactive on any device, especially in times of disaster when folks need critical information at their fingertips,” said GEMA/HS Director Homer Bryson. “The app and website are the products of months-long collaboration of several GEMA/HS divisions and partner organizations, and we hope it serves our citizens well.”

The redesigned site offers a more user-friendly and mobile responsive interface. In times of disaster, it will provide a one-stop-shop on critical weather updates, safety tips, local emergency management agency contacts, disaster declarations, available assistance and much more.

The refined Ready Georgia app provides a more robust preparedness toolkit that allows for listing items specific to individual needs, as well as local EMA contact information for quicker communication with local emergency managers.

With the new website and updated app, GEMA/HS continues its mission of keeping Georgians safe by providing critical information in times of disaster, as well as preparedness information to ensure families are ready for any natural or manmade disaster.
