Application Period For FEMA BRIC and FMA Grants Now Open

(ATLANTA) – The Georgia Emergency Management & Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) Hazard Mitigation Department is pleased to inform communities that FEMA has opened the application period for the Building Resilient Infrastructure & Communities (BRIC) and Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) grants.

GEMA/HS Encourages Georgians to Prepare for Tropical Storm Sally

(ATLANTA) – Hurricane Sally made landfall and is now a tropical storm that will move through parts of North and Central Georgia on Thursday and Friday. Though the storm is expected to weaken to a tropical depression as it moves through Georgia, the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency is encouraging citizens to be prepared as the storm has the potential to cause flooding and severe weather.

GIO COVID-19 Data Hub Replaces GEMA/HS COVID-19 SITREP On Sept. 5

(ATLANTA) – With the recent release of the web-based COVID-19 Data Hub by the Georgia Geospatial Information Office, effective Saturday, Sept. 5, the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency will no longer publish the daily COVID-19 Situation Report (SITREP).

Governor Kemp Names New Director, Chief of Staff for GEMA/HS

(ATLANTA) -- Today, Governor Brian P. Kemp announced Chris Stallings as the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency Director, and Mike Smith as the GEMA/HS Chief of Staff during a press conference in the State Operations Center, following the retirement of Director Homer Bryson.
