Ways to Get Appointments for COVID-19 Testing

Online COVID-19 Screenings

  • Augusta University Health offers 24/7 free virtual screenings for COVID-19 and is available by calling 706-721-1852 or here. Georgians are also encouraged to use the Augusta University Health ExpressCare App. For Android devices, click here or visit your App Store. For Apple devices, click here. If the result is a positive screening, staff will contact the patient to schedule a test at one of Georgia's designated testing locations.
  • CVS Health is conducting free testing at some of their locations in Georgia. Georgians can be screened to determine if you are eligible for testing and schedule an appointment here.
  • Walgreens has opened COVID-19 testing sites at some of their locations in Georgia. To receive a test, individuals can complete an online health assessment to determine eligibility here.

Referrals from Healthcare Providers
If individuals are seeking referrals from healthcare providers, call ahead to make an appointment prior to arriving so the provider can take necessary precautions to keep other patients safe.

Referrals from Local Health Departments
Individuals will be screened by appropriate health department staff and referred to the closest, most convenient specimen collection site. You can view a list of phone numbers for health departments here.

Georgia Department of Public Health Sites

Search for a site by city, county or zip code here. People should not arrive unannounced or without a scheduled appointment at a DPH specimen collection site. Only individuals who have been evaluated by a healthcare provider or local health department and assigned a PUI # number will be seen at these drive-thru sites.
